Over a Quarter of Quebec Residents Have Already Voted in Provincial Election
As the October 5 provincial election in Quebec approaches, a significant number of residents have already cast their ballots. Recent data from Élections Québec revealed that 25.31% of the province’s 6.4 million eligible voters have participated in advance polling.
Louis-Hébert, located in the Capitale-Nationale region, stood out with the highest turnout at 39.67%, while Ungava, the province’s northernmost electoral district, reported the lowest participation rate at 9.48%.
The advanced polling period kicked off with enthusiasm, including early voting at select polling stations since Sunday. Additionally, voting took place at returning officers’ offices on Friday and Saturday, with students at certain institutions also exercising their voting rights on campus on Friday.
On the election day, October 5, polling stations will welcome voters from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
