The British Columbia provincial election landscape is shaping up with a variety of parties fielding candidates. Elections BC has revealed that the B.C. New Democratic Party, led by David Eby, is not running candidates in all 93 ridings. Specifically, the NDP has 92 candidates lined up, with one riding, Peace River North, lacking a representative. On the other hand, the B.C. Conservatives are set to have candidates in all 93 ridings for the upcoming Oct. 24 election.
According to official figures, the Greens are putting forward 73 candidates, while CentreBC has 35 and OneBC has 33 candidates. CentreBC and OneBC have roots in the provincial Conservatives, who are emphasizing their full slate of candidates as a testament to the party’s popularity.
The B.C. New Democrats, however, are highlighting the diversity of their candidate roster as a point of pride.
