A drug trafficking leader from California, Parampreet Singh, 60, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and ordered to forfeit $2 million for his role in a cross-border operation involving cocaine, heroin, opium, and ketamine.
Singh, from Davis, Calif., was identified as the mastermind behind a large-scale drug trafficking network that conducted transactions in Canada. Using encrypted cell phone apps, Singh and his co-conspirators coordinated deals for various controlled substances, including cocaine, heroin, opium, and ketamine.
Working alongside individuals like Ranvir Singh of Sacramento, Calif., and Amandeep Multani of Roseville, Calif., Parampreet Singh orchestrated drug transactions that generated significant amounts of money. Between October 2020 and April 2021, the group sold approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine, 1.5 kilograms of opium, two kilograms of ketamine, and various heroin samples, totaling over $700,000 in revenue.
Singh pleaded guilty on Sept. 9, 2025, following an investigation led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and involving multiple law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and Canada.
While Amandeep Multani cooperated with authorities and was sentenced to time served, Ranvir Singh faces a potential life sentence and a hefty fine for his involvement in distributing cocaine and ketamine. His sentencing is scheduled for December 2026.
