Laval Mayor Stéphane Boyer Successfully Undergoes Brain Tumour Surgery
Laval Mayor Stéphane Boyer has shared the positive news that he underwent a successful 13-hour operation to remove a golf ball-sized tumour from his brain. Taking to Instagram to update his constituents, Boyer expressed his confidence before the risky surgery and now looks forward to a full recovery.
Looking slightly bruised post-surgery, Boyer likened his appearance to that of a boxer after a match, emphasizing that his outlook is quite the opposite. He reassured followers that he will soon be back on his feet, ready to face the future with optimism.
As he begins his recovery journey, Boyer, 38, is expected to take two months off. In his absence, Ray Khalil, vice-chair of the Executive Committee, will handle the mayor’s responsibilities. Despite his recuperation, Boyer eagerly anticipates returning to work and engaging in discussions on public finances and water systems.
With thousands of well-wishers leaving supportive comments on his social media post, the mayor’s strength and determination have not gone unnoticed. Boyer originally disclosed his tumour diagnosis in early September, pledging to prioritize his health while continuing to fulfill his mayoral duties in Laval.
