A tragic incident on Highway 1 in the British Columbia Interior has claimed the lives of three horses who were en route to an exciting Equestrian Canada event in Langley. The horses, hailing from Alberta and Manitoba, were part of the National Dressage and Para Dressage Championships. Sadly, a crash occurred about 40 kilometers east of Revelstoke, resulting in the loss of three horses and injuries to the remaining one, who is currently under veterinary care.
The driver, a 73-year-old woman from Alberta, reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to a collision with a rock wall. Fortunately, the driver escaped serious injuries. However, she was fined $109 by the BC Highway Patrol for failure to maintain her lane position and veering off the road.
