PQ Rallies Candidates for Strategic Post-Election Summit in Drummondville

The Parti Québécois (PQ) gathered its 127 candidates for a post-election meeting held at a Drummondville hotel on Friday. The meeting served as a platform to reflect on the highs and lows of the recent election campaign, which culminated in the PQ securing a minority government on Monday.

Following a 39-day campaign, the PQ emerged with 59 MNAs, while the Liberal Party claimed 40, the Conservative Party 19, and Québec solidaire 9. Notably, the Coalition Avenir Québec saw no candidates elected as MNAs, marking a significant setback for the party.

The PQ faced disappointment as MNAs Alex Boissonneault (Arthabaska) and Pascal Paradis (Jean-Talon) lost their seats. Premier-designate Paul St-Pierre Plamondon hinted at the possibility of accommodating them in government roles, indicating potential changes on the horizon.
