This weekend, starting from October 9 to 11, a significant operation will take place to dismantle the iconic arch of the Pattullo Bridge.
The arch, a prominent feature of the bridge, will be carefully lowered onto a barge on the Fraser River before being dismantled for recycling.
Authorities have emphasized that this intricate process will be executed meticulously, with an estimated duration of 48 to 60 hours for completion.
Due to the removal process, the navigation channel will be temporarily closed for safety.
It’s important to note that this operation will not disrupt travel on the nearby stal̕əw̓ asəm Bridge.
