Over the weekend, a violent incident unfolded in the bustling Granville Entertainment District, with multiple individuals falling victim to stabbing attacks, as reported by the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).
According to authorities, around 3 a.m. on Saturday, officers were summoned to a bar located on Granville near Smithe Street in response to a stabbing incident.
Eyewitnesses described a heated confrontation that erupted within the bar involving three male customers, leading to all three individuals being stabbed by an unidentified assailant. A male staff member also sustained injuries while trying to intervene in the altercation.
All four individuals involved were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, though thankfully, their lives are not in danger.
The VPD disclosed that the suspect responsible for the stabbings is currently at large. Described as approximately 5-foot-10 with dreadlocks and seen wearing a black puffy jacket during the altercation, the suspect remains unidentified.
Const. Darren Wong of the VPD suggested that the incident appears to be linked to the ongoing gang conflict in the Lower Mainland, emphasizing that it was likely a targeted attack.
In an effort to gather more information about the incident, Const. Wong urged any witnesses or individuals with relevant details to come forward and cooperate with the investigators.
