“Félix Auger-Aliassime Triumphs at European Tennis Open, Clinches Spectacular Final Victory!”

Montreal’s rising tennis star, Felix Auger-Aliassime, clinched the European Open title in Belgium on Sunday, adding another impressive win to his career.

The 25-year-old Canadian outplayed Jiri Lechecka from Czechia in a thrilling final, securing a 7-6(2), 6-6(7), 6-2 victory in the ATP 250 tournament held on hard court.

Auger-Aliassime, seeded second in the tournament, showcased his dominance with 17 aces during the intense two-hour, 34-minute match, winning a remarkable 79% of his first-serve points. Despite a setback in the second set, the Montreal native maintained his composure, capitalizing on key break-point opportunities and denying Lechecka any chances to break his serve.

This triumph marks Auger-Aliassime’s eighth career title and his third of the year, following his earlier victories in Montpellier, France, and Adelaide, Australia, in January 2025.

Currently ranked 13th globally, Auger-Aliassime’s stellar performance signifies his return to top form after briefly sliding down the rankings from his previous No. 6 position in November 2022.
