Longueuil police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual who was reportedly recorded without consent during a sexual encounter by a 41-year-old man from Candiac.
The suspect, Mamady Keita, has been charged with voyeurism and extortion in connection with a sexual extortion case, according to authorities.
In a statement, the Longueuil police mentioned that Keita is accused of extorting a woman by using a covert recording of an intimate encounter that took place at his previous residence in May.
Following a complaint in June, an investigation was initiated, leading to a search of Keita’s residence where investigators allegedly discovered evidence implying that he had surreptitiously recorded at least one other individual during a sexual act.
Police revealed that the victim in question is believed to have had a close relationship with Mamady Keita at his former home in Candiac on April 26, 2024.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or who may have been impacted by Keita to come forward and assist in the investigation. Those affected or with relevant information can contact Longueuil police at (450) 463-7211.
It is important to note that the allegations against Mamady Keita have not yet been tested in court.
