“Multiple Power Outages Strike Lower Mainland After Circuit Failure, BC Hydro Confirms”

BC Hydro is currently working to restore power to approximately 20,000 customers following a significant outage in the Lower Mainland area south of the Fraser River. The outage, caused by a major transmission circuit failure, is impacting grids in Langley Township, Maple Ridge, Surrey, and Abbotsford.

Efforts are underway by BC Hydro crews to address the situation promptly and safely. They have already successfully restored power to around three thousand customers and are aiming to have all affected customers reconnected by later this morning, according to a statement provided to 1130 NewsRadio.

A dedicated crew is being dispatched to address the outage affecting 20,364 customers in Langley, Maple Ridge, Surrey, and the surrounding areas. Updates on the restoration progress can be found on BC Hydro’s official communication channels.

Despite the power outage, reports indicate that traffic lights in the affected areas are still operational.

This remains a developing situation with ongoing efforts to restore power and minimize disruptions for customers in the region.
