A 19-year-old man from Toronto has been charged with nine offenses following a human trafficking investigation in Peel Region.
Authorities revealed that on October 6, they discovered a missing woman at an Airbnb in Mississauga. The woman was found in a distressing state with the suspect, who had reportedly taken control of various aspects of her life, including her identification and bank accounts. She also disclosed that the suspect had physically assaulted her.
Henry Igboenyesi was apprehended and is now facing eight charges related to trafficking, which include advertising sexual services, exerting control, and instances of physical assault.
Police suspect that there may be additional victims, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Golden Horseshoe region. They urge anyone with information to come forward and contact the authorities.
