“Mayor Chow Throws Down Gauntlet: Bikes on the Line in Toronto-L.A. World Series Wager!”

Mayor Olivia Chow and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have made a friendly cycling wager as the Toronto Blue Jays face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. The bet was revealed by Mayor Chow on a morning show, where she announced that if Toronto wins by six points, Mayor Bass will ride her bike for six kilometers. Conversely, if the Dodgers emerge victorious, Mayor Chow will take a bike ride in miles. Additionally, the losing mayor will have to don the winning team’s jersey as part of the friendly competition.

Game 1 of the World Series is set to take place this Friday at 8 p.m. ET at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Mayor Chow expressed confidence in Toronto’s chances, stating, “I’m not at all worried.” The Blue Jays’ last World Series appearance was in 1993, and following a thrilling victory in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series, the city is gearing up to support the team with free public viewing parties at Nathan Phillips Square for all home games.
