Two young individuals were apprehended by authorities after an alleged robbery incident at Moody Park in New Westminster on Sunday. The suspects reportedly approached a child from behind and demanded money.
Law enforcement responded to the situation around 5:30 p.m., managing to swiftly locate and recognize the individuals nearby. The suspects were taken into custody for their involvement in the robbery and were subsequently released into the care of their guardians.
Authorities have disclosed that there is a prior connection between at least one of the suspects and the victim. The New Westminster Police Department’s communications officer, Hailey Finnigan, commended the victim for their bravery in reporting the incident.
The investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
