“Chaos in Scarborough: Alleged Drunk Driver Smashes Into Building and Hits 3 Cars Before Police Nab Suspect”

Late-night crash involving suspected drunk driver causes havoc in Toronto; building damaged, vehicles struck, gas leak prompts emergency response

Toronto police were dispatched to the area near Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue around 10:26 p.m. on Wednesday following reports of a vehicle colliding into a structure at 996 Kingston Road. The impact resulted in a ruptured gas line, leading to Toronto Fire Services swiftly responding to the scene to address the leak.

Authorities revealed to 680 NewsRadio that the driver, operating an older-model Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, fled the crash site despite the truck sustaining significant damage to its front end, including a detached bumper.

Subsequently, the truck collided with three other vehicles before finally halting nearby, where law enforcement apprehended the driver. The individual, who has not been publicly identified, was taken into custody by Toronto police and charged with impaired driving.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The investigation into the crash remains actively ongoing.
