A tragic incident unfolded in Toronto’s Weston neighborhood on Halloween night when a 9-year-old girl was gravely injured in a hit-and-run accident, as reported by the police.
The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Jane Street and John Street.
The driver fled the scene in a black SUV, heading northbound on Jane Street, evading authorities.
Emergency responders rushed the injured child to the hospital for treatment of serious but thankfully non-life-threatening injuries.
As authorities conduct an investigation, roads in the area have been closed off.
