While Halloween festivities may have come to an end, the mystery of the uneaten candy lingers on. The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has issued a cautionary alert for parents following a concerning incident in the Clayton Heights neighborhood.
Over the weekend, SPS officers responded to a residence where a parent discovered a metal staple concealed inside a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, raising alarms within the community. Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton revealed that the children had been trick-or-treating between 188th Street and 190th Street, spanning from 72nd Avenue to 70th Avenue.
Authorities are actively investigating the origin of the tampered treat and urge parents to promptly contact the police if they encounter any suspicious items in their children’s Halloween candy.
