An 18-year-old man is in critical condition following a late-night collision that saw his vehicle ram into a pole in Montreal.
The incident took place on Perras Blvd. near 54th Ave. in Rivière-des-Prairies around 12:10 a.m., as reported by Montreal Police (SPVM).
The cause of the crash is still under investigation as the vehicle unexpectedly struck a pole with no other vehicles involved.
Both occupants of the vehicle, both 18 years old, were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Tragically, the driver sustained severe upper body injuries and is currently in a critical condition, while the passenger is fortunately in stable condition.
Authorities have cordoned off the accident site to carry out a thorough investigation as they work to determine the vehicle’s path leading up to the collision.
