Montrealers can expect some road closures for Tuesday’s Remembrance Day Ceremony.
The road closures will be in place for a parade before and after the ceremony between the Black Watch Armoury and Place du Canada. Those road closures are as follows:
The first Remembrance Day Parade will take place from 10:10 a.m. until 10:40 a.m., with the second parade taking place from 11:55 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
“There will be a police presence along the entire route to ensure the safety of both participants and spectators,” said SPVM in a statement to CityNews.
“For security reasons, the SPVM does not disclose its intervention strategies, nor the number of officers deployed, either in advance or after an event. Our operations are adapted to each situation and to the behavior of participants.”
Following the parade, the Remembrance Day Ceremony will take place at Place du Canada and will include Honour guard, prayers, and music. A 21-gun salute by the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment, and a low-altitude flyover by a helicopter from 438 Tactical Helicopter Squadron.
