Heavy, wet snow and widespread power outages have forced the closure of several schools across Quebec on Tuesday morning.
School boards in Montreal, Montérégie, Lanaudière, and Laurentides regions confirmed that classes are cancelled for the day due to unsafe road conditions and a lack of electricity in many buildings.

Hydro-Québec reported early Tuesday that more than 360,000 customers remain without power after strong winds and heavy snow brought down tree branches and power lines overnight. Crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible.
Environment Canada has warned that road conditions remain slippery and visibility is reduced in several areas. Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time.
