The Montreal police (SPVM) are asking for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of installing a concealed camera inside a washroom in a Westmount café earlier this year.
According to SPVM, the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on May 27 in a café near Claremont Ave. and Sherbrooke Street West.
The victim and her friends discovered a small device hidden beneath the sink in the washroom for people with reduced mobility. The object was later confirmed to be a hidden camera containing a micro SD card.
Investigators say the memory card held several videos showing unsuspecting individuals using the washroom. The suspect is seen in the footage multiple times installing and repositioning the device.
Police describe the man as about 30-years-old, with a medium to dark complexion, a shaved or bald head, and a dark beard. During the incident, he was wearing a blue cap with a white “LA” logo, and has a tattoo covering his entire left arm as well as a black ring on his left ring finger.
The SPVM has released four images taken from the concealed camera and urges anyone with information to contact investigators or submit an anonymous tip through Info-Crime Montréal at 514-393-1133.
