Police Bust Alleged Criminal Organization Linked to Hells Angels in Edmonton
Authorities in Edmonton have successfully taken down an alleged criminal group closely associated with the notorious Hells Angels biker gang. After an extensive 11-month investigation spanning across Edmonton and into British Columbia, a total of 26 individuals have been arrested in connection with the dismantling of this organization.
Among the arrested individuals are seven suspects, aged between 28 and 58, hailing from various locations including Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Androssan, and Alberta Beach. The Edmonton Police Service has filed charges against these suspects, with more charges expected to follow.
The focus of the investigation was on the One Order Motorcycle Club, a group with roots in Eastern Canada seeking to expand its operations into Alberta. Law enforcement officials uncovered alleged activities such as firearms trafficking, extortion, robbery, and assaults linked to this organization.
The culmination of the operation took place on September 23 when approximately 200 officers executed search warrants at 40 different locations in Alberta and British Columbia. During the raids, 25 suspects associated with the One Order Motorcycle Club, including a prominent Hells Angels member and a firearm supplier, were apprehended. An additional suspect surrendered to the authorities the following day.
The Edmonton Police Service’s drug and gang enforcement section (EDGE), in collaboration with the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region, launched the investigation in October 2024. Staff Sgt. Marco Antonio of the EPS organized crime branch commended the team’s dedication, emphasizing the significance of disrupting organized crime and enhancing public safety through collaborative efforts.
Several of the arrested individuals are facing charges related to firearms trafficking and involvement in criminal organization activities. This successful crackdown serves as a testament to the effectiveness of cross-agency cooperation in combating sophisticated criminal groups.
