A man from Burlington was taken into custody and faces charges after reportedly making threats against City of Burlington workers, leading to a temporary closure of City Hall.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) revealed that the incident unfolded on the afternoon of November 26 when a city employee received a call from an agitated man who threatened harm against municipal staff.
Police swiftly arrived at Burlington City Hall to investigate the situation. As a precaution, City Hall was shut down for the rest of the day, with employees being sent home while law enforcement ensured the premises’ safety.
Fortunately, no one was physically harmed during the incident.
By the evening of the same day, a 37-year-old resident of Burlington had been apprehended and charged with uttering threats of death, as stated by authorities.
