Hamilton authorities have announced the arrest of two young men in connection with a violent hate-motivated attack on a transgender individual that occurred last month.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on October 25 when the victim, along with friends, was leaving a bar on Hess Street South in Hamilton. Surveillance footage captured multiple individuals participating in the assault, resulting in the victim being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The police have apprehended two suspects, aged 23 and 21, believed to be the main perpetrators of the attack. The identities of the individuals have not been disclosed, but they are currently facing assault charges and are set to appear in court in the coming weeks.
The authorities have indicated that there may be additional individuals involved in the incident and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
