In the early hours of Friday morning, a devastating two-alarm fire ravaged a house close to Birchmount Road and Lawrence Avenue. The blaze led to the hospitalization of two individuals, one of whom sustained life-threatening injuries.
Toronto Fire Services (TFS) swiftly responded to the emergency call at Dulverton Road in Scarborough shortly after 1:30 a.m. as reports indicated heavy smoke and flames emanating from a residential property.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered the residence consumed by flames, necessitating a second alarm to enlist more firefighting teams to the site.
The injured parties were rushed to the hospital, with one in critical condition and the other receiving treatment for non-life-threatening wounds.
TFS personnel are currently on-site, managing lingering hotspots. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
