Dramatic Etobicoke Standoff: Armed Home Invasion Leads to Police Chase, Cruiser Crash and Two Arrests

Toronto police have apprehended two individuals in connection to a recent armed home invasion and vehicle theft in Etobicoke. The incident unfolded overnight, involving a collision with a police cruiser and the recovery of a firearm.

The event transpired at approximately 12:49 a.m. on Wednesday when law enforcement was alerted to a potential gun-related situation in the vicinity of John Garland Boulevard and Martin Grove Road near Finch Avenue West.

Initial findings suggest that the suspects forcibly entered a household and absconded with two sets of car keys belonging to the occupants. They proceeded to escape the scene by utilizing the stolen vehicles.

Subsequently, one of the stolen vehicles was located and was later involved in a collision with a police cruiser. The perpetrator attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly apprehended, with a firearm being seized at the site.

The second stolen vehicle was discovered near Weston Road and Highway 401, where another suspect was apprehended. Both individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.

Authorities confirmed that no pursuit of the vehicles took place during the incident and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
