Teen and Woman Wounded in St-Leonard Armed Rampage; 19-Year-Old Suspect in Custody

A 13-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman were wounded in a violent incident on Monday evening in Saint-Leonard, Montreal.

The Montreal police (SPVM) responded to a call on des Grandes-Prairies Blvd., close to Lacordaire, at approximately 6:30 p.m. regarding a woman who appeared to be injured.

Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered the 28-year-old woman with injuries to her upper body and a secondary victim, a 13-year-old girl, with wounds to her lower body.

A 19-year-old male suspect was apprehended at the location.

Preliminary reports suggest that a conflict escalated for reasons unknown, leading the suspect to allegedly assault both the woman and the teenager with a sharp object.

Both victims were swiftly taken to the hospital, with their conditions reported as stable.

Law enforcement is actively seeking potential witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the vicinity to piece together the sequence of events.

The investigation is currently underway.
