McCain Foods Ltd. has initiated a recall of certain tater tot products across the country as a precautionary measure after potential plastic contamination concerns surfaced.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has identified the affected items as McCain Tasti Taters and Crispy Potato Bites, available in 800 g and 1.8 kg packaging sizes.
This recall falls under Class II as per CFIA classification, indicating a moderate risk where consuming the products may result in short-term, non-life threatening health issues.
At present, there have been no reported injuries associated with this incident.
