“Accused Killers of Ontario Restaurateur Extradited Back to Canada for Trial”

Three men allegedly involved in the tragic death of an Ontario restaurant owner in 2023 have made their way back to Canada to confront the charges against them.

The victim, 44-year-old Sharif Rahman, was reportedly assaulted outside his restaurant in Owen Sound, a city located approximately 190 kilometers northwest of Toronto, in August 2023. Tragically, Rahman succumbed to his injuries in the hospital one week after the incident.

Initially, the suspects managed to flee the country following the crime but were apprehended in Scotland towards the end of 2024. They were subsequently extradited to Ontario, with their court appearance scheduled for Friday.

Among the accused individuals is 24-year-old Robert Evans, who is facing a charge of manslaughter. Additionally, his father, 47-year-old Robert Busby Evans, and uncle, 54-year-old Barry Evans, have been charged with being accessories after the fact.

Court proceedings in Scotland indicated that the assault allegedly stemmed from a disagreement over an unsettled restaurant bill.
