Tragic News: Man Dies After Apartment Fire in Pierrefonds-Roxboro
A heartbreaking incident unfolded last Friday in Pierrefonds-Roxboro as a man was discovered unconscious in his apartment during a fire and has since passed away.
According to Caroline Chèvrefils, the Montreal police (SPVM) spokesperson, the 66-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Sunday.
The event transpired at a 16-unit residential building on Pierrefonds Blvd., close to des Sources Blvd., when SPVM responded to a call for assistance from the Fire department around 11:40 a.m. The building was swiftly evacuated, and firefighters managed to contain the fire, primarily localized in one apartment.
Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, the man could not be saved.
At present, the cause of the fire remains shrouded in mystery as investigations continue.
