The Merritt RCMP announced that a man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following the tragic death of his wife.
According to police reports, officers responded to a call for help on Dec. 16 at a residence where a disturbance was reported. Upon arrival, they discovered Pamela Jarvis, aged 45, with severe injuries. She was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Christopher Jarvis, had fled the scene before law enforcement’s arrival. However, he was located and apprehended shortly thereafter.
Authorities have stated that this incident was isolated, and the individuals involved were acquainted with each other.
Christopher Jarvice remains in custody as he prepares for a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 6, 2026.
