Toronto authorities are currently looking into an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a TTC bus in Etobicoke during the early hours of Friday.
The accident took place at approximately 5:54 a.m. near the intersection of Evans Avenue and The West Mall, close to Sherway Gardens.
Emergency medical services promptly transported a female pedestrian to the hospital for treatment of serious but thankfully non-life-threatening injuries.
Law enforcement confirmed that the TTC bus involved in the collision remained on-site as officers carried out their inquiries. To facilitate the investigation, several road closures were put into effect, notably the shutting down of eastbound Evans Avenue at Sherway Gate.
Officials are advising motorists to steer clear of the affected area and seek alternative routes until the investigation concludes.
