A man, aged 32, has been taken into custody and accused in connection with a sexual assault case in Mississauga.
The incident unfolded when Saman Salimianrizi entered a bus on November 18 and sat down next to a woman he did not know. Authorities report that Salimianrizi proceeded to commit a sexual assault against the woman while the bus was in motion. He then fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by law enforcement a short distance away. Salimianrizi now faces charges of sexual assault and two counts of violating probation. He is currently being detained pending a bail hearing.
In addition to the Mississauga case, Salimianrizi is also implicated in a similar sexual assault incident in York Region. Police suspect there could be additional victims involved.
