Noël Audet, a devoted Christmas enthusiast, has spent over 15 years amassing a collection of more than 700 Santa Claus figurines, setting a festive scene in his home. Audet’s passion for these jolly figures surpasses traditional holiday decorations, with him proclaiming, “The Santa Clauses are nicer!”
Adding to his impressive collection, Audet recently acquired two new Santas, bringing his total to over 700. Despite initially hesitating, he couldn’t resist expanding his cherished collection, noting, “I didn’t want to buy any more, but I figured I don’t smoke.” His Santa figurines come in various sizes and styles, some valued at over $200 each, meticulously arranged and cherished by Audet.
Each year, Audet immerses himself in the holiday spirit by dressing up as Santa Claus for local children at the multiethnic community center in Montreal North. This tradition has spanned six to seven years, with Audet eagerly looking forward to delighting approximately 130 kids this season.
As the holiday festivities wind down in mid-January, Audet carefully packs away his treasured Santas, a process that takes at least 15 hours. From constructing shelves to safely store the figurines to meticulously organizing the boxes for storage, Audet’s dedication to his Santa collection is unwavering.
