Tragic Shooting Incident Near University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Leaves One Dead
Tragedy struck near the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus as authorities reported a fatal shooting on Tuesday afternoon. According to a post on the Toronto Police Service X account, emergency responders rushed to the area of Old Ring Road and Military Trail, just south of Ellesmere Road, shortly after 3:30 p.m.
The victim, discovered with a severe gunshot wound, tragically succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter. The University of Toronto issued an alert stating that the incident occurred in the Highland Creek Valley and urged those in the vicinity to seek safety.
Toronto police homicide squad officers were promptly dispatched to the scene, though details regarding the circumstances of the shooting have yet to be disclosed by investigators.
