“Traffic Transformation: Steveston’s New HWY 99 Interchange Fully Operational, Promises Smooth Sailing for Commuters!”

The newly completed Steveston interchange at Highway 99 in Richmond is now fully operational, featuring three lanes heading westbound and two lanes eastbound. This interchange aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve travel times for communities south of the Fraser River. The Ministry of Transportation and Transit reported that the $87.5 million project is part of the Highway 99 Tunnel Program, designed to replace the outdated George Massey tunnel. Although all five lanes are open for use, ongoing work such as landscaping and ramp paving will continue until spring.
