An urgent situation unfolded this morning on Highway 401 in Pickering as a transport truck driver was involved in two consecutive collisions, leading to serious injuries and traffic disruptions.
The Ontario Provincial Police responded to the scene between Whites Road and Brock Road following a crash at approximately 6:45 a.m.
The initial collision involved two vehicles, including a transport truck. Subsequently, a second collision occurred, involving the transport truck driver and another passenger vehicle.
The injured driver has been swiftly transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
As a result of the incidents, traffic has been redirected to the eastbound collector lanes, and motorists are advised to steer clear of the affected area.
