Langley Chaos: RCMP Vehicle Smashed in Violent Traffic Stop Escape Attempt!

An incident involving a driver intentionally ramming a marked police cruiser near Willowbrook Mall in Langley on Wednesday is currently under investigation by the RCMP.

The event unfolded when officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of Willowbrook Drive and 198th Street at approximately 10:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the driver in a state of unconsciousness behind the wheel.

According to the Langley RCMP, as an officer attempted to rouse the driver, the individual suddenly awoke, shifted the vehicle into drive, and deliberately collided with the marked police cruiser, which was equipped with emergency lights.

The suspect’s vehicle proceeded to push the police car before fleeing the scene in the direction of Willowbrook Drive at a high speed. Officers had to swiftly evade the oncoming vehicle to ensure their safety.

Following an inquiry, law enforcement determined that the license plates on the vehicle had been stolen and altered.

Sgt. Zynal Sharoom emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “This was an extremely dangerous situation that put both officers and members of the public at significant risk. The driver’s decision to use a vehicle as a weapon and flee at a high rate of speed is unacceptable, and investigators are actively pursuing the identification and apprehension of those responsible.”

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Individuals possessing any information or dash-cam recordings from the area during the occurrence are encouraged to contact the Langley RCMP and reference file number 2025-41931.
