Some areas in the Lower Mainland might get a taste of a white Christmas this Thursday night. Wet snow showers and rain are forecasted in the evening, extending into Boxing Day morning before gradually easing off by Friday afternoon.
According to 1130 NewsRadio meteorologist Carle Lam, the cold air will persist through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a slight temperature increase expected at the start of the following week.
In the Sea to Sky region, a snowfall warning is in effect from Squamish to Whistler, with anticipated snow accumulation of 15 to 20 centimeters from Thursday evening to Friday afternoon. Environment Canada has cautioned of rapidly changing and deteriorating travel conditions, advising drivers to adopt safe winter driving practices, such as using winter tires and chains.
