The Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO) has launched an investigation following an early morning incident in Surrey on Thursday. According to police reports shared with 1130 NewsRadio, BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of 132 Street and 108 Avenue around 6 a.m.
Upon arrival, two ambulances were dispatched to the scene where paramedics administered critical medical care to one individual before transporting them to a nearby hospital.
While the IIO has confirmed its investigation into the matter, no additional information has been disclosed at this time. The IIO’s involvement typically follows police-related incidents resulting in severe injury or fatality, regardless of any alleged misconduct.
