A 20-year-old man from Brampton was recently apprehended by Peel police for his involvement in a suspected plot to carry out a serious criminal act.
According to authorities, the incident transpired in the early morning hours of December 27 in the vicinity of Chinguacousy and Drinkwater roads. The sequence of events unfolded when a passenger disembarked a public transit bus and was trailed by an unidentified individual. Subsequently, the suspect reportedly approached the individual, intimating possession of a firearm.
Upon notifying law enforcement, the victim was able to alert officers who swiftly apprehended the suspect not far from the scene. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly discarded an “imitation firearm” into a nearby snowbank.
The arrested individual, identified as Jagdeep Singh from Brampton, faced charges of possession of a Weapon for a dangerous purpose and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. At the time of his arrest, Singh was found in possession of a backpack containing various items such as rope, tape, gloves, and knives.
Following his detention, Singh was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
