A tragic incident in Liberty Village has resulted in the arrest of a suspect by the Toronto police. The victim, identified as Marcel Cardiff, 32, was found with a fatal stab wound near King Street West and Joe Shuster Way. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Cardiff succumbed to his injuries.
After thorough investigation, the authorities revealed that the suspect in connection to this crime is Matthew Brown, 37, also from Toronto. Brown has been apprehended and charged with second-degree murder. He is set to make his appearance at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre.
This unfortunate event marks the 42nd homicide in Toronto for the year 2025.
