A tragic incident has struck a Quebec couple who were on vacation in the Dominican Republic, as confirmed by their family.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Gilles Sauve Jr. shared the devastating news that his sister Christine Sauvé and her husband Alain Noël passed away in their sleep on the night of December 25th.
Sauve Jr. expressed the family’s need for privacy during this difficult time, stating, “Out of respect for our family and to grieve in private, we kindly ask for your understanding. We are seeking more information before sharing further details.”
Global Affairs Canada (GAC) acknowledged the loss, stating, “We are aware of the passing of two Canadian citizens in the Dominican Republic. Our deepest sympathies go out to their family and loved ones.”
The statement continued, “Canadian officials are offering consular support and collaborating with local authorities to gather additional details. To uphold privacy, no further information can be provided at this moment.”
The cause of their untimely deaths remains unknown, leaving their loved ones seeking answers and closure.
