Authorities in Scugog apprehended a man who attempted to escape after being involved in a collision with a stolen vehicle. The incident unfolded in the vicinity of Lake Ridge Road and Regional Highway 47 during the early hours of December 30.
Upon their arrival, police discovered the male driver fleeing the crash site on foot. Following an extensive search, he was located hiding in a dense forested area. The vehicle in question had been reported stolen from the Toronto region.
The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Rolando Concepcion with no fixed address, has since been taken into custody. He faces charges including possession of stolen property valued over $5000, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Following his arrest, Concepcion was released on an undertaking, awaiting further legal proceedings.
