A 64-year-old man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in Oshawa on the night of New Year’s Eve.
According to authorities in Durham Region, the incident took place at approximately 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of Simcoe Street North and Byng Avenue.
Reports indicate that the man was crossing Simcoe Street North when a Ford hatchback collided with him. The driver, a 28-year-old man, stayed at the scene following the accident.
Emergency services rushed the injured man to a trauma center in Toronto, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
