A man in Oshawa, aged 38, faces charges following a stabbing incident at a rooming house on New Year’s Day, according to Durham police.
The altercation, which took place inside the residence on Ritson Road North and Adelaide Avenue East, resulted in one resident being assaulted and stabbed. Police responded to reports of an armed person around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 1.
Upon their arrival, officers found both the victim and the suspect. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as Nnamdi Enunwa from Oshawa, was apprehended at the scene without resistance. Enunwa, 38, is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for the commission of an offense. He was detained for a bail hearing.
Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
