A man sustained severe injuries while a dog tragically lost its life in a heartbreaking incident when they were hit by a vehicle at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Remembrance Drive on Friday afternoon, according to Toronto police.
Responding swiftly to the scene at approximately 2:18 p.m., emergency crews provided immediate assistance.
The injured man was promptly taken to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment and is expected to recover.
Sadly, the dog did not survive the collision.
The vehicle involved in the accident remained at the location.
In response to the situation, authorities have temporarily closed one eastbound lane and one westbound lane on Lake Shore at Remembrance, causing traffic delays. Drivers in the vicinity are urged to anticipate hold-ups and explore alternative routes.
