Tragic Accident Claims Life of Pedestrian on Highway 401 in Central Ontario
Authorities are reporting a heartbreaking incident on Highway 401 in central Ontario, where a pedestrian lost their life in a collision between two vehicles near Cochrane Road in the Township of Cramahe last Saturday. The collision occurred in the westbound lanes, where a vehicle was parked near the median, leading to the pedestrian being struck.
Tragically, a 22-year-old man from Chatham was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. As a result of the incident, Highway 401 had to be temporarily closed between Big Apple Drive and County Road 30 for investigation purposes, but has since been reopened to traffic.
The investigation into the circumstances of this unfortunate event is still underway.
