A pedestrian in his 30s sustained serious injuries when he was hit by a vehicle in the Rexdale area of Toronto.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27 around 6 p.m. on a Sunday evening, according to the Toronto police.
Paramedics rushed the man to a trauma center in critical condition for medical treatment.
Authorities reported that the driver involved in the accident stayed at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.
