A tragic collision in Surrey on New Year’s Day has claimed the life of one individual following a crash involving a semi truck and two cars.
The incident, which occurred at around 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 1 at the intersection of 32 Avenue and 194 Street, resulted in three individuals from the smaller vehicles being transported to the hospital for medical care, with two of them in critical condition. Fortunately, the driver of the truck emerged from the crash unharmed.
Sadly, the Surrey Police Service (SPS) confirmed on Tuesday that a 23-year-old woman, one of the critically injured victims, has passed away.
Investigations into the cause of the collision are ongoing, with authorities suspecting that impairment may have played a role. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
